The Pettooth Team

Maia
A longtime Bay Area resident and a UC Berkeley grad, Maia finds great joy in serving communities through her unique work. Two and a half decades ago, she impulsively responded to a newspaper ad for a pet dental cleaning apprenticeship and the rest, as they say, is history! She loved the work from the beginning and to this day. In her years of experience, Maia has cleaned thousands of teeth and cherishes interacting with both animals and their human companions. A lifelong animal lover and owner, Maia has a natural way with animals, and she is passionate about empowering owners to take part in their pet's oral health.
Verena
Verena joined the Pettooth team in 2015. A native of Brazil, she was a licensed human dentist in her home country before moving to the Bay Area. She decided not to pursue another degree here and is grateful to have discovered a new side of dentistry. Verena met Maia at their children's preschool, and after finding out about her work with animals, she trained under Maia and learned the special procedures and care with which the animals are treated. Verena's education in dental science, coupled with her lifelong love of animals, made the transition from humans to animals seamless.

Victoria
Victoria joined the Pettooth team in 2025. She is a transplant from Southern California with a degree in Biological Sciences. She has hands on experience with all kinds of animals, both domestic and wild, which has served her extremely well in developing skills as a hygienist. She has a special love of horses and dreams of having one of her own someday. Victoria is a natural with dogs (they all seem to gravitate towards her in the clinic!) and has been such a wonderful addition to our clinic team.

Our Wonderful Veterinarians

Dr. Araba was our very first SF vet and has worked with us through thick & thin. She's one of our all-time favs to work with. She currently supervises our Jeffrey's clinics. She has a Bay Area house call practice and is accepting new patients.
Dr. Sarah supervises our Menlo Park clinics and our Bernal Beast clinics. She's been instrumental in helping us step up our standards of care, and is a secret goof-ball. She has a Bay Area house call practice and is accepting new patients.

Dr. Jen supervises our East Bay clinics and our Marin clinic. We've never seen her lose her cool., even under the (genuinely!) craziest of circumstances! She has an East Bay holistic house call practice and is accepting new patients.
Dr. Anne Reed and the All Paws staff are wonderful. This special veterinary practice offers holistic vet care in Point Richmond. We do a dental clinic there once per month, open only to current All Paws patients.
PetVet/petfood is a Bay Area gem, a one-of-a-kind business committed to making vet care accessible to all. They offer low-cost wellness clinics inside their two East Bay pet stores. We currently do a once-a-month Saturday dental clinic at their El Cerrito location.

We are a very small business and we spend most of our working time with dental tools in our hands. Sometimes it takes a day or two for us to respond, so please be patient if you email. We promise we will get back to you soon!
